Made from locally salvaged Birch, this piece is a showstopper and never fails to impress. I don’t work with Birch much, but this piece was given to me by my “wood guy” for free as he thought it was an “end-grain” blank, which is typically much harder to turn or work with. Given that the grain is so figured, it’s really hard to tell what its orientation is, but I had no issues creating this beautiful piece. Somewhat shallow and ideal for a tray, it still boasts a very refined form, fitting for its incredible wood.
